  1. Can you please come paint the dresser we want to paint for our nursery? Because… I’m scared now. But FYI your vanity looks AMAZING!!! The black with the flower knobs is a gorgeous combo!

    1. Haha, I promise it’s not usually that bad!

  2. I went through similar thing with my living room chairs! Why does this only seem to happen with intricately-shaped furniture that is a pain-in-the-you-know-where to re-sand and re-paint? Maybe Lindsey is on to something with the “no more spray paint” rule.

  3. I don’t know if you remember but I had similar issues when I tried to paint my desk last summer. It took 13 coats before I figured it out! (http://fifteenminuteplan.wordpress.com/2012/07/28/lucky-13/). Basically I’ve vowed to never spray paint furniture again. It just doesn’t work for me. I’m an enamel paint girl from now on. And– what I ended up doing on my desk was doing JUST the top in enamel paint (because the legs actually looked fine) and it gave me that super glossy smooth texture I was looking for and matched the legs fine. So yea– if it still bugs you, pick up some enamel paint!

    1. I do remember that! I was thinking of you the whole time I was dealing with this, haha. I’ll definitely do that if it keeps bugging me – luckily it’s not as bad as it was the first time around, so I may just be able to deal.

  4. Black was a good call, it looks really good against the wall color.

And I hate most painting projects! They always turn into a nightmare for me!

  5. Have you considered putting the same fabric as the stool across the top (pin it down somehow) and then cover with glass? Then you have an easily cleanable surface, you can’t see the weird texture, and it adds the pattern across the top also. Just a suggestion.

Otherwise I think it looks great!

    1. I thought about doing something like that, but then I wouldn’t be able to use the top part of the vanity that opens, so I’ll probably just deal. If it bothers me enough, I’m sure I can find a way to fix it, haha
