Howdy! I’m technically taking this week off of projects and blogging because, um, Creating With the Stars was exhausting and I need a dang break.

But, I’ve noticed a lot of new faces (computer screens?) around here lately, so I thought today would be a perfect day for a super quick roundup of some of the most popular posts here on Love & Renovations. Our greatest hits, if you will.

So, without further ado…the top 5 most-viewed posts on our blog (counted down in reverse order, just to add to the suspense!)

#5: Enabling Our Dogs

It cracks me up that this is one of our top five posts, because it was such a random project. I swear to you that one of the top referring Google searches for my blog is “bench for my dogs to look out the window.” Apparently we aren’t the only crazy dog people out there.

#4: More Form, Same Function

I wish I could go back and re-do this post sometimes. It was written way back in the beginning of our blog (one of the first projects we ever did!) and the photos are terrible. I owe you guys some updated photos of this beauty sometime soon. My favorite part about this post, though? It’s one of the very (VERY) few posts penned by Corey!

#3: A Homemade Curtain Rod 

Not surprised that this was a top one – I’m still pretty obsessed with these guys, and we’ve used the same technique several times in other parts of our house. Love the industrial look!

#2: Home Sweet Home

This thing still makes me smile every time I walk down the hallway. It’s probably one of my favorite things we’ve ever done.

And, of course…

#1: A Handmade Dining Room Light

The project that got us into Creating With the Stars to begin with! It’s been featured on Apartment Therapy (which is probably one of the main reasons it’s our #1!) and I still love it just as much as I did the day we made it. Love, love, love.

Hey guys, I just wanted to drop in and introduce myself. For those of you that don’t know, I am the other person in all these photos – Amanda’s husband.

I am currently a senior at Texas A&M University in glorious College Station, TX. Yes, I am the reason we had to stay until May. Amanda blames our lease, but lets face it: if I wasn’t still in school, we would have signed a shorter lease and already be back in Austin (I can’t wait).

I am studying accounting, but it’s basically a waste of time because once I get out of school I will be pursuing a life long dream, to be just like Justin Beiber… err, I mean, to become a real estate agent. I don’t know how long this has been a dream of mine, but let’s just say that I have been watching House Hunters and other real estate centered shows for as long as I can remember. I have always enjoyed looking at homes and especially enjoy following the market. I guess thats the math nerd in me. I can’t get enough of those numbers.

Honestly, until Amanda and I started getting serious about our future, I thought that I was going to be doing public accounting for the rest of my life. But that just wasn’t for me. I love people and can’t wait to help people though what can be among the most difficult yet rewarding moments in their life.

I am also a bit of a renovation nut. I can’t wait to dig deep and turn a house into a home with Amanda. Having something tangible that you can walk into a room and admire is a feeling that is unexplainable. It makes me feel a sense of accomplishment that nothing else can. Well, unless you count making Amanda happy. When I can get a smile out of her, that is truly devoid of words.

Anyways, enough with the sappy stuff. I am a man and I am here to do man things. Sawdust, motor oil, and beer! There, that’s better.

Well, here it is – my post-wedding blog! I’m officially a newlywed and I feel like that calls for a fresh start on my blog. You might know me from Weddingbee as Mrs. Cardigan or from my previous blog, The “I Do” Diaries.

But guess what? This blog will have nothing to do with weddings! How exciting is that? This blog will be all about my life after the wedding, from the trials and tribulations of being a newlywed to the excitement of buying my first home with my hubby (which will hopefully be happening in a few short months!)

Eventually, my husband Corey will be joining me here to blog about the adventures of home-ownership and our renovations and adventures that we encounter along the way.
