Have you ever heard anyone say that every room in your home should have at least a little bit of black?
Because it’s totally true.
A lot of people tend to stay away from black for their home because it can be an intimidating color to work with. It brings a lot of drama to your room and it can be tough to really know how to work with it without going overboard. But, trust me when I say you’ll be so glad you gave it a shot.
Why is black so important in home decor? It’s one of those colors that really grounds a room and brings in a ton of dimension. I promise, if you pay close attention to your favorite rooms in magazines and on Pinterest, you’ll quickly notice that almost all of them have at least one or two things in them that are black. It might be as obvious as a rug or a piece of furniture, or it could be as subtle as some art, a frame, or a vase. It doesn’t matter if you go big or stick to a few small accents, but your home will look so much more put together if you make an effort to add a bit of black to every room.
I’m a huge fan of black decor in homes, so when Moen asked if I’d be interested in rounding up some matte black inspiration to help show off their (gorgeous) matte black STO Kitchen Faucet, I jumped at the chance. And, um, now I seriously need to go shopping.

Mmmm, are you swooning?
Because I’m swooning.
There are so many incredible options here, and I am seriously tempted to just snatch them all up right now.
These are all really great options for if you want to try to introduce some black into your home on a small scale – you don’t have to go crazy with a black wall or a giant piece of furniture! You can start with a pillow, a throw blanket, or even just a small vase. Sprinkle a few different black accents throughout your room, and it’ll blow your mind how much of a difference it makes in making your room feel more complete. Also, can we talk about that faucet? It’s so sleek and gorgeous, and I really love the idea of having a kitchen faucet that doesn’t show fingerprints or get dirty easily – this would be a genius way to make your kitchen look a little cleaner without any additional effort (and you know I’m all about that).
