Welcome back to Friday Finds, the post where I pretend like all the perusing I do at my favorite places online actually has a purpose. Today we’re browsing Craigslist!
Happy Friday! This was my last full week of school – next week I’m taking a few days off to go visit my best friend in San Antonio, and the week after is our last week and is only three days long. I can’t even believe summer is so close!
This week I spent a lot of time on Craigslist and it did not disappoint. Corey and I have been browsing a lot more lately as we have been planning about 17,000 projects at once, and we had really good luck finding stuff this week! We haven’t pulled the trigger on anything, but I’m hoping that with your help I can convince him to buy one or two things on this list!
Today we’ll be browsing Austin’s Craigslist, but if you have a reader request feel free to shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll add you to the queue…I’ll take any excuse I can get to peruse!
Please note that items may or may not be available any longer as of this posting. This post is intended more for inspiration and ideas, and it’s entirely possible that items featured here have already been sold.
This chair isn’t much to look at right now but that is an amazing price for a chair with such great bones! On Craigslist, you always have to look past things like fabric, paint, and minor damage because with a little bit of elbow grease just about anything is possible!
Another great example of “don’t judge a book by its cover” – this dresser has really great lines and if you’d spend some time giving it a good sanding and a fresh coat of paint or stain, it would be stunning!
Back before we found our Ikea entryway table, I spent close to a year actively searching on Craigslist for a sideboard just like this! They’re a rarity and when they do show up they’re expensive. We found one once that was exactly what we wanted and affordable, but it ended up being too big. It lives at my parents’ house now and I gaze lovingly at it every time we visit. This one is a fantastic deal and I’m bummed we don’t have a spot for it in our house anymore!
I love these chairs and I’m working on talking Corey into getting one of these for the awkward corner in our room! We hate the chair that is in the space right now, but Corey’s worried that the chair would get torn up because Hadley would sleep in it every night…anyone have experience with leather chairs and big dogs? Please tell me she wouldn’t ruin it because I want one!
Corey and I are a little giddy about this posting and a few others we’ve seen like it. We’ve been talking a lot about finding a good source in our area for reclaimed wood for various projects we are wanting to tackle, and we seem to have hit the jackpot! We’re planning on spending some time this weekend making a plan for the projects we have planned and which ones we could use the reclaimed wood for – we’ll definitely be buying some of this!
What’s next on your project list? What would you build if you could get your hands on all of that gorgeous reclaimed wood??!
