(Note: I feel like I should clarify – I said 2 weeks to Christmas here because these updates are technically a week behind where I actually am. This was written over the weekend and I turned 33 weeks last Wednesday – as of today I’m 34 weeks. Confusing!)
How far along? 33 weeks
Size of baby: Monster is somewhere between 17 and 18 inches long and should be weighing anywhere from 4.2-5.8 pounds. That sounds huge! He’s approximately the size of a durian fruit (which I’ve never seen in my life…), or perhaps a pineapple…though I also saw pineapple for a couple of weeks ago somewhere else, so I’m gonna go with the durian.
Maternity clothes? I think I’ve officially reached the point where I don’t feel like I look good in anything anymore. Plenty of my regular clothes (and, of course, my maternity clothes) still fit just fine, but I feel huge in everything. And I still have about seven weeks of growing to do – lovely.
Sleep: As long as I don’t forget every step of my evening routine (including my iron supplement, Zantac, a shower, and sometimes some stretching), I sleep just fine. Lots of tossing and turning, but I’m getting used to that at this point.
Movement: With how big he is now, a lot of it is getting uncomfortable and/or painful. He still makes my stomach move every single time he moves, and I noticed one day this week that his hiccups make my stomach shake too!
What I miss: Feeling like myself. Normal hormones. Being able to get out of bed easily. Being able to grab something off the floor without worrying about toppling over. Wine.
Cravings/Food aversions: I haven’t been able to stop thinking about pizza from Schlotzsky’s for a while now, but Corey isn’t a fan of their food so I’ve been trying to suppress it. It reached almost unbearable levels this week, though, so I think I may have to just drive myself over there for dinner one day soon!
Other Symptoms: Crazy hormones this week, probably partially fueled by extra stress at work. I forgot to take my iron supplement one night and I thought my restless legs were going to kill me the next day – it’s crazy how sensitive my body is to little changes now! I also forgot to take my Zantac the same night and ended up having to get up and take some in the middle of the night because my heartburn was so bad I was almost in tears. I still haven’t noticed any swelling (knock on wood!), so I’m grateful that one awful symptom seems to have stayed away…I got almost all of the other ones!
What made me cry this week: This coke commercial.
Favorite moment this week: Our hospital tour! It was so mind-blowing to actually see it and know that we’ll be using it soon! One of the girls who was supposed to be at our class actually ended up being in L&D giving birth the day of the class – it was VERY much a wake-up call that we’re getting close!
