How far along? 32 weeks
Size of baby: From here on out, it seems like it’ll be impossible to give a solid estimate – all of the ranges are huge! Monster should be approximately the size of squash. What does that even mean? An acorn squash? A spaghetti squash? He’s also anywhere from 15.2-16.7 inches long and weighs 2.6-3.8 pounds. Allow me to note that these are the exact same measurements from last week…so basically no one has any clue how big he is. All I can tell you is he’s running out of room in there quickly!
Maternity clothes? Starting to have to get more creative with them as it is getting colder outside – lots of layering and crossing my fingers that I don’t have to buy any more maternity clothes before Monster makes his grand appearance!
Sleep: It was better this week – maybe just because I was so exhausted every day when I got home from work. I’ve found a good formula for getting a relatively restful night’s sleep (lots of movement in the evening, shower before bed, and a ton of pillows), so I’m hoping it continues to work over the next few weeks!
Movement: The movement changed a lot this week – he’s now large enough that my stomach shifts and moves every single time he moves. It’s kind of distracting when I’m trying to work and keep seeing my stomach jump and wiggle. He’s moving quite a bit more than he ever has (or maybe I can just feel it more!) and I’m starting to feel him moving in places I’ve never noticed him before – like all the way over on the side of my stomach!
What I miss: I miss being able to take a deep breath, and I miss being able to be lazy without being struck by insane restless leg syndrome. Oh, and laying on my back – I REALLY miss that.
Cravings/Food aversions: Had a crazy donut craving this week, and I have been thinking about basically nothing but breakfast food all week (biscuits and bacon and jelly and eggs…yummmm).
Other Symptoms: My restless legs got a bit better over the last few weeks since I started taking iron (we found out through a recent blood test that I’m slightly anemic), but one day this week I skipped my morning workout and later that night, ended up with probably the worst case of antsy legs I’ve ever had. Looks like there are no more days off for me! He’s still spending a lot of time in my ribs (but still no official kicks to it, so I’m thankful!) and that’s crazy uncomfortable – I’m basically thinking that from here on out I’ll just be uncomfortable all the time. So, that’s exciting!
What made me cry this week: Nothing unusual.
Favorite moment this week: When Corey got to hear Monster’s heartbeat just by resting his ear on my stomach! We’ve heard it is possible around this time, so he decided to try and was able to find it right away – we were both totally amazed. It’s also been so fun to watch my stomach moving all week long – even if sometimes it hurts a little. It’s worth it!
