How far along? 22 weeks!
Size of baby: A papaya this week – and I have no idea how big that is! Apparently he’s about 1 pound now and about 11 inches long.
Maternity clothes? I’ve officially banned shorts with the belly band from my wardrobe. It’s still warm enough here in Texas that shorts are necessary, but I’m going to find ways around it because the belly band is no longer comfortable. I’m sticking to dresses or just not leaving the house on the weekends until we get to pants season! Still in all maternity pants – I really never even tried on any of my regular pants once summer was over…I’m sure I have a pair or two that will still fit, but I don’t want to find out that I’m wrong, so I’m just going to stick with my comfy, stretchy maternity pants!
Sleep: Sleep was good this week until I got sick – allergies have hit me full force (as they have hit just about everyone who lives in the Austin area), and I have been sniffling (even more so than I have this entire pregnancy), coughing, and just generally feeling like crap. There were a few nights this week where sleep was AWFUL because of it all. And one night I didn’t use my second body pillow because Hadley was sleeping on it, and oh my goodness did I ever regret it the next day! I was in so much pain it was pathetic. I definitely learned my lesson!
Movement: So! Much! Movement! One night Corey laid next to me in bed with his hand on my stomach for about 20 minutes straight and we just laughed at how wiggly Monster was being. I can officially see most of his kicks through my clothing if I’m paying attention, and some of them feel like they’re shaking all of my insides – I always say that those are the kicks he does when he’s trying to escape.
What I miss: Again this week, I’m kind of just missing feeling like myself. I’m getting used to this “new normal” but it’s still odd to not be able to lay on my stomach and to constantly feel random aches and pains that I have never felt before!
Cravings/Food aversions: There was one morning this week where from the second I woke up I could think of nothing but chocolate milk. It was the best tasting chocolate milk ever! I’ve also still been loving pizza way more than usual!
Other Symptoms: The nesting urges are still really intense – it doesn’t seem like I’ll ever fully satisfy them!
What made me cry this week: I cried on Saturday morning out of frustration from being sick and having the back pain – I was just so tired of feeling like crap!
Favorite moment this week: All of those moments laying in bed with Corey and focusing on Monster wiggling around. It’s so amazing to be able to share that with him, and I love how excited Corey gets about it!
