How far along? 19 weeks
Size of baby: Mango – not sure I even know what size a mango is! Apparently, though, he’s about 6 inches long and weighs 8.5 ounces…still so tiny!
Maternity clothes? Still obsessed with my maternity pants, and I’m still in mostly regular shirts. I have a few maternity shirts (and am going to have to break down and buy more eventually) but for now most of my old shirts still work just fine. I have a maternity maxi skirt that I bought several weeks ago and I finally fit into it – it’s probably the most comfortable thing I own!
Sleep: Sleep is good but I’m starting to wake up sore…no fun! I definitely think I need a new body pillow – Corey noticed the other day that mine is just about flat (I’ve had it for years) and I think a fluffier one might be more supportive. Still having insane dreams just about every night!
Movement: All the time – I had no idea he would be this active this early. I feel kicks at least 5-6 times a day (usually several kicks in a row) and Corey has felt a few of them. He typically kicks more when I’m sitting up (at a desk or a table) or when I’m laying flat on my back. Some of them are getting strong enough that I can notice them even when I’m not paying attention (like when I’m at work), but for the most part I have to be still and focusing to really feel them.
What I miss: We went to Chuy’s this weekend (our favorite Mexican food place) and I was the only adult at the table who didn’t get a drink – I would have done just about anything for a Mexican martini! I stole a few sips from Corey’s, though, despite the dirty looks I got from both of my parents. 😉
Cravings/Food aversions: After one particularly rough day at work I had Corey pick up McDonald’s on the way home – it just sounded like the only thing that could cheer me up!
Other Symptoms: Still feeling a ton of back pain when I get home in the evenings, so I’m starting to research options for back support during the day, since my job is so active. I was definitely also more cranky than usual this week – I’m hoping that goes away next week!
What made me cry this week: Nothing this week, thank goodness!
Favorite moment this week: We set up the crib last weekend and it was so exciting! I think it’s just about the coolest thing ever to walk into Monster’s room now and see it actually starting to look like a baby’s room. It’s definitely all starting to feel very real, and I can’t believe that next week will be the halfway point!
