How far along? Fifteen weeks – this week Monster can react to light from outside…pretty sure I need to start annoying him/her with a flashlight soon!
Size of baby: This week Monster is the size of an orange!
Maternity clothes? I wore my maternity jeans for the first time this week, and I’m officially on the lookout for more maternity pants before school starts! I’m also officially at the point where none of my shorts fit without the belly band – I can still button most of them, but it’s super uncomfortable, so the band has been a daily part of my wardrobe!
Sleep: Getting up to go to the bathroom has interrupted my sleep hugely this week, but there were a few nights that I got a great night’s sleep – and I’ve been having headaches this week, which have completely knocked me out. I’ve been more tired this week than I have been in a while!
Movement: Nothing yet! We had an elective ultrasound this week (more on that later), though, and the ultrasound technician told me I have an anterior placenta, which means it may be a while longer before I feel anything…so that made me feel better!
What I miss: Nothing this week – it’s been a great week! Though, I will say I could do without the near-daily headaches. They’re killer!
Cravings/Food aversions: Nothing specific this week – I was actually able to eat pretty normally! I’ve been trying to cut down on my Cokes (I’ve been having about one a day), but they’re the only thing that help with the headaches sometimes, so they’re staying for now.
Other Symptoms: Not much this week – the big thing was the headaches! I also feel like I kind of “popped” this week, and my bump officially doesn’t go up and down anymore…it’s pretty much always there!
What made me cry this week: I cried one night because Hadley was being particularly annoying and I couldn’t sleep – I was so tired and frustrated that I just couldn’t handle it anymore!
Favorite moment this week: We had an elective 4-D ultrasound this week that we didn’t tell anyone about. We were going in because we wanted to find out the gender early, but we didn’t want to tell people just in case we couldn’t tell at the ultrasound…but we definitely found out! I’m not going to share here yet, because we still have some family to tell (and I’d rather wait until our “official” gender scan, so we can be 100% sure), but we got a very solid view, so we’re pretty positive we know what Monster is! It was amazing to see Monster on the 4-D ultrasound. I had some orange juice for breakfast in hopes that she/he wouldn’t sleep through the whole thing and, um, it worked! Monster was so wiggly and bouncing all over the place…it was hilarious! He/she tried to be shy and had their ankles crossed when we tried to check for gender, but with a little poking from the ultrasound tech, Monster uncrossed them and we got a good view! We immediately went to Baby Gap after the ultrasound to pick up some fun gender specific stuff, and we had to tell everyone right away, even though we had originally planned on waiting a few weeks!
