Ahh, today couldn’t have come fast enough! There’s just something about the first week back after a vacation that’s incredibly painful, isn’t there?
Let’s just forget all about work for a few minutes and gaze at all of this lovely inspiration, hmm?
Oh wait. Before we do, I’ve gotta let you guys know that just this week, I created a Facebook page for Love & Renovations. I always said I’d never do it because I’m not a big Facebook user, but I kind of started to get jealous of all the other blogs with super cool Facebook pages so I took the plunge. I’m having a lot of fun with it so far, and I promise to not just copy everything from Twitter and post it on there – it will be (mostly) unique content! I’m feeling a little lonely over there so far, so I’d love it if some of you would hop over and like the page. You can also access it via the Facebook link with all of the social media buttons on my sidebar.
Annnd that’s my annoying announcement for the week. Commence the drooling over the finds!
I adore this kitchen, and my jaw just about fell off my face when I saw this photo. This kitchen transformation is absolutely insane, and I’m particularly inspired by it because it’s so similar to what Corey and I want to do in our kitchen someday – the chunky open shelves, the subway tile with the dark grout, the white cabinet/dark countertop combo…yeah, it’s right up my alley. I’m obsessed.
And while we’re at it, let’s chat about the living room makeover she also did in the same house…
It looks like it belongs in a magazine, right? I’m head over heels in love. That black wall? Amazing! I love how collected it looks, even though they put it together over the course of a few months. Gorgeous, wonderful, beautiful. Love.
Corey actually found this image on Pinterest a few weeks ago and decided he wants to consider trying something similar in our house when we get around to giving our staircase a makeover. I think it’s a fun idea because, although our living room is very bright and colorful, because of the way the room is laid out you wouldn’t see the staircase and the rest of the room at the same time (unless you tried really hard), so it wouldn’t be overwhelming. It’s so fun, and I think the pop of color is beautiful. Definitely considering something like this for our stairs!
Um, you can absolutely 100% expect a project just like this from Corey and I in the (hopefully) near future. I’ve been looking for a tutorial for a headboard with side panels like this for a while, and this one is absolutely perfect. Corey and I are dying to upgrade to a king sized bed (145 pounds worth of dogs plus both of us in a queen sized bed is slightly awkward), and I think this’ll be the perfect project for us! So gorgeous, right?
And that’s what I’ve got for you this week! I’m off to work and then to spend my weekend frantically working on Creating With the Stars projects (seriously, this competition is stressful!) – let’s hope I manage to squeeze some relaxing in, too.
What are your weekend plans?
