Friday Finds

Posted by Amanda under Friday Finds, Home

It’s Friday! I’m super excited to kick off another weekend, and to get us started today I have some amazing projects and inspiration that I’ve gathered from around the web. Let’s dive right in, shall we?

A couple of weeks ago we all fell in love with the gorgeous giant sheet music art that I talked about on Friday Finds, and this week I’ve got a great, thorough tutorial on how to make it yours! I have a feeling I’ll be using this soon to make something like this for our home!

I’m completely and totally 100% obsessed with this idea. I’ve been wanting to make some faux roman shades for a few different spots in our house, and this is such an awesome and easy tutorial. And, um, it’s gorgeous! I’ve definitely bookmarked this and have full intentions of using it as soon as my sewing machine is working again.

There is nothing about this living room that I don’t absolutely love. The orange couch, the Sharpie “wallpaper,” and the gorgeous string art. Seriously, the whole thing is incredible and I’m now beyond addicted to this blog. If you go look at the post, she links to all of the various projects that she did to create this amazing living room, and there is so much inspiration there. Read it – you won’t be disappointed!

I love this fun pop of pattern in a bedside table! Such an easy idea, and I adore the combination of the bright color and graphic pattern. It’s such a fun little detail that adds a lot of impact to a room, and it’s so easy to achieve!

What’s been inspiring you lately?

I actually used the tutorial for the sheet music and I’ll tell you a couple stumbling blocks I came upon: 1) Staples wouldn’t copy my music because of copyright laws 2) The canvas was so big, I had to modge podge as fast as possible 3) If I were to re-do it, I don’t know that I would use phonebook pages underneath, I think the tea and the modge podge give it enough texture. Just thought i’d share my two cents :)
