Ahh, the first Friday Finds of the new year. For some reason, every year when January rolls around I get a little crazy and want to re-organize my entire house. Little piles of clutter that I could ignore before suddenly because impossibly annoying, and I’m constantly looking for new and exciting storage solutions. So, it should be no surprise that the majority of my finds this week are focused on storage, organization, and making life a little bit easier.

I never in a million years would have thought to add trim like this to a window to create a more craftsman-type look in our home, but I am so head over heels in love with how it looks. I’m now seriously contemplating making Corey do this to all of our windows once we get around to replacing them. It’s gorgeous!

I’ve loved the look of these spice containers from Ikea for a while now, but I’d never known anyone who used them and wasn’t sure how functional they really are. So, needless to say, I was super excited when this post popped up in my Google Reader – I need a good spice storage solution, and after reading this post I’m thinking this might be just what I need. And they’re super cute, too!

We have a half wall just like this in our bathroom and I’ve always been kind of annoyed by how pointless it seems. We can’t knock it out because the light switch is on it, but adding some storage to it like this may be a perfect solution! We obviously couldn’t have it go the whole length of the wall, due to the electrical components for the light, but I love the idea of adding in some sort of storage to make it a bit more functional!

I’m itching for a pantry makeover – we need some better storage solutions desperately, and this is one idea that I really love. The little area of wall on either side of the pantry doesn’t really have any functional purpose – why not maximize every inch of space and add some more storage? I’m hoping that I can do a little pantry re-organization within the next few weeks, and this is an idea I definitely want to incorporate!

And now I’m feeling an urge to go clean! But, if we’re being completely honest, I’m much more likely to spend my weekend in my pajamas on the couch browsing organization ideas on Pinterest. Oh well.

What’s been inspiring you lately? Any brilliant organization ideas?

I am also on an organizational kick! I keep finding myself saying “oh that just looks too cluttered” and then scream “OFF WITH IT’S HEAD” then i have to remind myself that this isn’t Alice In Wonderland and it is going to be a process. :)

Hah! Wouldn’t it be nice if it was that easy?

I got onto a pantry organization kick a few months ago, and I wound up getting one of those little “lazy susan” two-shelf holder things for all my spices that don’t fit in my normal spice rack. I also got some shelf dividers so I could double-stack cans and things like that to make more space. It’s much easier to store stuff in there now!

I love the look of the spice racks on the frig–I need to look into those! I think they’re adorable!
And I need some organization– I’ve been throwing things into closets and into my “crazy room” just to get them out of the way for the holidays=)
