Friday Finds

Happy Friday, friends! This week has been pretty busy for us – Corey started his new job (!!) which kicked off a whole new schedule for our day-to-day lives, so it’s been interesting adjusting. We also got to spend the week finishing up our Christmas decorations which is the most exciting thing EVER. Have I established yet that I’m obsessed with Christmas?

Just to remind you of exactly how obsessed I am, I wanted to let you know that starting tomorrow, December 1st (ALREADY?), I’m kicking off a super exciting month-long series here on the blog. Want to take a wild guess as to what the theme might be? Um, of course – CHRISTMAS! Every day for the month of December I’ll be popping in to share something Christmas related. It may be a project, an idea or tradition, or some photos of our fully-decked out home. I’ve been planning this since September-ish (not kidding), so it should be pretty fantastic. Get ready!

But, since today is Friday and it’s still November, I’ve got a plain ol’ Friday Finds post for you – I’m rounding up a few of the awesome things I found on Pinterest this week. Enjoy it – it’s the last non-holiday Friday Finds you’ll get for the rest of the year!

This is a super old post from one of my favorite blogs that I just happened to stumble on while browsing Pinterest. I’m a huge fan of sunburst mirrors, and I can’t believe how easy this one looks to put together! I’m in love with how this mirror looks, and I am seriously contemplating creating one for somewhere in our house. So gorgeous!

I’m kind of obsessed with how these gold-dipped feathers look and I want to cover my entire life with them. And, again, such an easy project! I’m trying to come up with a creative way to use them in every single room in my house, so I’ll let you know how that works out.

Um, yeah I’m pretty sure I need one of these. It’s a gold leaf nightstand, people. Gold. Leaf. Nightstand. I’m in loooooooove. And, once again, the instructions make it look pretty easy! I wonder how the nightstands in our bedroom would look in gold….

Okay, I know. This isn’t a food blog. It’s a home decor blog. But, SERIOUSLY. I’m drooling just thinking about this. I must try this as soon as humanly possible.

Does my obsession with everything animal/elephant/shiny and gold get old sometimes? If so, I’m sorry…I can’t help it. And you can’t deny that these little elephant hooks are anything less than amazing. They’re handy, useful, and beyond adorable. I think a little set of these would look so cute right next to our front door, and it would eliminate the daily search for the keys that happens when we need to leave the house! Win win.

And that’s what I’ve got for you today! I hope you enjoy your Friday, and be sure to check back in tomorrow (and the next day, and the next day, and so on) for some Christmas fun!

What has inspired you on Pinterest this week?

Hahaha, my DIY attempt at gold leafing a mirror doesn’t look ANYTHING like that dresser! I made some mistakes though, using my fingers to smooth down the gold leaf, running out halfway through and having to order another batch (which, even though it was from the same company, didn’t “match” the first set of gold leaf”, lots and lots of spots that aren’t covered in the crevices. That dresser does look amazing though.
