Friday Finds

Posted by Amanda under Friday Finds, Home

It’s Friday! Are you guys as excited as I am? This week has been weird for me – we had an inservice day on Monday and I was at a conference yesterday (and will be again today) so I was only at school two days this week! Stuff like that always throws me off…so I’m definitely looking forward to the weekend and then to getting back to a normal routine next week. But, enough work talk – let’s get to the fun stuff!

This week I decided to share some awesome things I found from around the web – the blogs I read were particularly inspiring this week, and I found some great things on Pinterest, so this is a bit of a mash-up of random fun things from all over the place. Get ready to be inspired!

(Via Our Fifth House)

I loved this post from Our Fifth house because I’m always in need of more creative ways to store things in our house. Corey and I don’t have a very efficient clothing storage system yet (our closet is set up horribly!) and we have a difficult time thinking outside the box when it comes to where to put things. This post got me thinking and I think I’ll be able to come up with some better ways to organize things now! I’m always a fan of better organization systems!

(Via A Lovely Avenue)

I just about died when I saw this sign on A Lovely Avenue. I’m obsessed with this Dr. Seuss book, and I seriously wish I had a baby or child so that I could hang this in their room! I love the colors and, of course, the sentiment is wonderful. I’m now officially looking for any excuse to buy one of these for my house!

I was thisclose to buying some Washi tape at Target the other day, but I decided against it with the argument that I really didn’t know what I would do with it. Then I saw this blog post and wondered what the hell I was thinking. This post talks about 7 different ways you can use paper tape around the house and it definitely had me wishing I had bought some! I have a feeling a trip to Target is in my very near future!

(Via Write Shop)

I read the post and it doesn’t actually go into what the pin I saw said, but the pin talked about writing down good things that happen throughout the year and keeping them in a jar, then going over all of them on New Years Eve. I love this idea because it can be so, so easy to forget about all of the little things that happen that make you smile, and I love the idea of taking a few minutes at the end of the year to reflect and talk about the positive things in your life. I might try to talk Corey into doing this with me next year!

(Via Radical Possibility)

I’m obsessed (OB. SESSED.) with these adorable DIY cups! The tutorial makes them sounds super easy, and I’m always a fan of festive dishes and glasses! I think these would be so adorable for the holiday season and New Years, or even just sitting on a counter holding pens or random trinkets or keys. Love, love, love!

What fun things have you found on the internet this week?

Just a heads up on those glasses…it IS a really easy project but make sure you put sealant on as soon as you’re done painting because the acrylic paint WILL slide right off it you accidentally use the glass and there’s condensation…. Oh and Walmart has a set of 4 glasses that are super-cheap if your Goodwill doesn’t have a good selection!
