Corey and I both have birthdays in September (and so do many people in our families), so this tends to be a month of a lot of celebrating.
Usually, we just cook dinner at home for one another on our birthdays (I cook on his birthday, he cooks on mine, obviously), but this year we decided that in addition to that we would go out on a special date in-between our birthdays to jointly celebrate. The exact middle of our birthdays just so happened to fall on Saturday, so we got all gussied up…
…and headed out to our favorite restaurant in the world – Melting Pot!
It was a fabulous dinner and the perfect way to celebrate together. We don’t get to go very often (the last time we went was for our anniversary), so it’s always a super special occasion when we do get to go.
Anyone else love fondue as much as we do? What are your birthday traditions?

In my family, the birthday person gets a dinner out/picked up that is their choice, as well as the right to pick the dishes at the family party nearest their birthday (usually the weekend before or after). We are very food oriented celebrators.
