Friday Finds

Posted by Amanda under Friday Finds, Inspiration

So, I totally underestimated (or just forgot?) how incredibly difficult it is to get anything done when you have a puppy running around the house! My goodness…I accomplished absolutely nothing this week, skimmed a few blogs, and that’s about it. So, today for Friday Finds I’m going to share some of my favorite Pinterest inspiration from this week because I need something to jump start my motivation to stop cuddling with my puppy and start doing stuff!

This picture makes me smile – I love, love, love the colors here! It’s such a fun idea to paint a curtain rod a fun and bright color (especially if you have some neutral curtains) and I don’t think I ever would have thought of trying this on my own! I don’t think something like this would fit into mine and Corey’s house, but I absolutely love the idea!

When I clicked on this picture, I couldn’t believe that these little magnets were from a store and not from a DIY project on a blog. They seem like they would be so incredibly easy to make, and I can’t believe I haven’t already tried this. Most of the magnets we currently have on our fridge are boring and/or ugly, so I think that some cute little animal magnets might be in order sometime soon!

I was also expecting this one to be from a blog or a DIYer talking about their genius idea for hanging curtain rods from the ceiling – who would have guessed it was from Macy’s?! I absolutely love this idea, and I wish Corey and I would have thought about it for our own home! I have a feeling that this would make a huge visual impact, and it would make the ceilings look way taller than they actually are. And more than all that, I just love how unexpected and unique it is! Genius!

This is yet another one that I clicked on expecting it to be a DIY project from a blog and was shocked to see that these cute little bookends were from PB Teen and cost a whopping $50! I have a feeling these things (or something similar) would be beyond easy to create, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to make it my personal mission in life to do so. Expect to see a project like this soon!

I love this craft project, and I have a ton of cheap, ugly old glass vases laying around the house that I would love to do this to! This is perfect for a vase that you don’t want to throw away (because who knows when you’ll need it?) but that you also don’t love enough to have it sitting around in your home. I definitely think I’ll be trying this one soon!

I’m so excited by these ideas and projects and I’m feeling so incredibly inspired! I have a feeling I’ll be trying out a few of these this weekend!

Are you feeling inspired? Anyone else up for making some cute animal bookends with me this weekend?

Hanging curtains from the ceiling is such a great idea. I think that might need to go on my weekend to-do list!

You know, I saw that blue dog one on Pinterest, and someone had written, “Take animal-shaped toys and hot glue to wood blocks, then spray paint for bookends.” And I thought, if you did that, it seems like it would be awfully lightweight, and possibly not heavy enough to hold books up. If you do it, I’d be interested to see how you make it work!

That ceiling idea is so genius! We don’t have the highest ceilings and that trouble putting our rod as close to the ceiling as possible. I’m totally trying this after we repaint the room. I really like the bookends too. I think I”ll have to keep my eye out for some fun bookend type figurines.

It is amazing how little you one can accomplish when there’s a new puppy around! We can’t get anything done here lately, haha. Feeling you on that!

I absolutely love the curtain rods – genius. We’re working on painting a chalkboard wall in our long, useless room (it’s weird – really) and creating/installing/hanging a wall shelf desk below it. Wish us luck! We are crafty failures, usually.
