When Corey and I got Hadley last Tuesday, the poor thing was desperately in need of a bath. She had been cooped up in a kennel 24/7 at the Humane Society and was stinky, sticky, and just all-around dirty. So, obviously, the first order of business that evening was to give her a bath.

So that, of course, got me thinking about the first bath experience for our other two dogs as well – we’ve made it a tradition to always snap a few photos of the first bath, so I thought it might be fun to look back at all of our dogs when they were tiny, new to the family, and getting bathed for the first time!
Cullen hated the bath (he still does!) and shivered the entire time, and for about 20 minutes afterwards. It was heartbreaking! Of course, we got him in January, so it wasn’t exactly warm outside!

Ranger wasn’t a fan of the bath either (though he LOVES it now!) but my favorite part about looking back at these photos is how incredibly tiny he was! Can you believe he was ever this small? He was a meager little 18 pounds when we first adopted him. Of course, someday we’ll be saying the same thing about Hadley!

Do you have any photos of your pet’s first bath? Anyone else love to go back and look at photos of your pets when they were babies? It makes me so nostalgic!

Chloe hates getting a bath. She just stands there staring at me and looking pathetic until I’m done, though she loves being wrapped in a towel and having me hold her for half an hour once the bath is over. I absolutely LOVE going through her baby puppy pictures. She was so tiny! Just barely 4 pounds when I brought her home (she’s a whopping 7.8 pounds now). She used to only be able to keep one ear straight up at a time too!

11. September - 8:02 amAwww, I love photos of wet animals! They’re so funny and cute. I don’t think I’ve actually ever given my cat a bath — she bathes herself about 20 times a day and I’ve never seen such a clean cat!

I love pet bath pictures…so adorable!
And Tobi, my cat, actually really enjoys baths and is known to poke his head in while you’re showering ha.

11. September - 10:05 amRaleigh hates baths too. We’re always too busy trying to keep him in the tub to take any pictures.
He’s still technically a baby (5 months already!) but he’s gotten so much bigger since we got him 3 months ago. He’s our chubby, wrinkly English Bulldog and we love him!

11. September - 7:21 pmOh boy, my pugs normally hate baths. So I hear ya! I had pics of my pug Oliver’s first bath but he was the only one we had as a puppy. I love these pictures!!! Their little puppy faces are so sweet! Hadley is all paws, it’s so cute!

18. September - 8:43 amWe totally take photos of our babies in the bath tub. Kingsley has always been pathetic when it comes to bathtime, and because he is a Collie his fur usually hides how skinny he is. Eleanor on the over hand loves playing in water. She has fun drinking from the tub faucet.
