Vacation Memories

Posted by Amanda under Off-Topic Tuesdays, Ramblings, Sponsor Love

I kind of have a thing for scrapbooks and photo books. Corey and I have had a tradition since the first year that we started dating where I make him a scrapbook or a photo book every year – usually it’s on his birthday. It’s a special tradition that means so much to us, and we love flipping through all of our old albums.

Since I have such a love of photo books, it was a no-brainer when Blurb sent along an offer for me to try out their new Facebook photo albums – basically, the idea is that you connect to Facebook with Blurb and choose one (or a few) of your Facebook photo albums that you’d like to turn into a real album. Then you just arrange the photos how you like (or, if you’re not a control freak like me, you let Blurb do it for you) and a few days later they’ll send you your pretty new photo book!

I was a bit skeptical of this idea at first because, um, I don’t really ever use Facebook anymore, much less add photo albums to it. But after a bit of thinking, I decided to just upload photos from our cruise onto Facebook just so I could turn it into an album. I got it in the mail last week and I’m kind of smitten.

I’ve always been a fan of Blurb’s photo album software (it’s super customizable and easy to use) and I’ve always had good luck with their albums – this one was no exception! I love that I got to turn all of my cruise photos into a photo book without having to bust out all the scrapbook paper and spending hundreds of hours putting together a scrapbook (I love scrapbooking, but sometimes I’m just feeling too lazy for it!) and I love that now we have a book to remember our vacation by. I have a feeling this is going to turn into a vacation tradition!

I am so happy with how it turned out! I was worried about the quality of the photos – I was uploading them from Facebook, after all, but they look fantastic! The colors look a bit washed out/shiny in these photos because of the lighting when I took them, but in person it look absolutely great – I was definitely surprised by how high the quality was!

I also (finally, finally) made a wedding album (one-and-a-half years later) while I was at it, but I’ll share the photos of that one next week – today I just wanted to share this cool new Facebook feature on Blurb and my adorable album that I scored with it! If you wanna create your own Blurb Facebook album, just click here and get started – I promise, it’s easy!

If you turned a Facebook album into a real photo album, what photos would you use?

Disclaimer: Blurb sent me this photo book for free, but the choice to review it and all of the opinions are 100% mine! I just love how it turned out and couldn’t resist sharing!

It looks great!! I absolutely love making making photo books and I have made them for most of our vacations. I was going to do a long comment on all the photo books I’ve tried but then I realized I was getting way off topic and way too long lol. Bottom line– blurb is great for vacation books :)

I don’t post a lot of photos on fb anymore either. I guess because I post so many on my blog I figure I don’t need them there? Although I would be more than willing to upload a ton if it meant I could have a free photo book. Although I would easily pay for a photobook of vacation photos otherwise.
