As Corey mentioned on Friday, I was out of town most of the week for a conference I had to go to for my grad school program.
The trip took about 8 hours each way, and I’m pretty sure I never want to sit in a car again. And the views? Maybe I’m spoiled, but they were completely boring compared to the rolling hillsides and green trees I’m used to seeing. The most interesting view of the entire trip were these windmills – they were HUGE and there were dozens of them – it was pretty cool to see.
The conference itself wasn’t awful, but I have to say I was so incredibly excited to get home on Friday night. There’s nothing like spending four straight days in an unfamiliar (boring) city to appreciate where you live! On Sunday, since I was craving some Austin sights, Corey and I headed downtown to spend the day wandering around. It was wonderful to be back home, and spending the day in Austin was a great way to celebrate it!
We grabbed some breakfast tacos…
…did some window-shopping, and just enjoyed the Austin skyline – it had been too long since I’d seen it!
I’m pretty sure I’ll be avoiding going out of town by myself for a while – I’m not a fan!
Do you like to travel alone? What do you miss most about your town when you’re gone?
