Are you ready to see more photos than you’ve ever cared to see of another person’s vacation? I hope so, ’cause that’s exactly what’s about to happen here.
Corey and I went on a cruise last week and it was an absolutely fabulous vacation – we took a ridiculous amount of photos, had an insane amount of fun, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
It all started on Saturday morning with a trip down to Galveston, Texas. It was one of the most exciting car trips I’ve taken in a long time – we were both completely giddy and couldn’t wait to get there!
We spent the day hanging out with my sister and her family, grabbed some seafood, and just generally hung out for the day. The best part of the whole deal was that this was our view on Saturday…
And when we woke up on Sunday morning it looked like this:
Beautiful, no? It was so nice to be so close to the port – we were able to walk over to the ship when we were ready to board! We spent the morning trying not to go completely crazy while we waited until it was time to get on the ship, and then after what felt like forever, it was finally time!
We snapped a quick photo in the terminal before we got on, and then as soon as we got on the ship we tracked down a couple of these:
And we started relaxing! The view wasn’t very pretty yet, but that didn’t stop us from hanging out on our balcony (our room was right next to my sister’s, so we were able to open up the divider and have a giant balcony) and snapping some photos of not-so-beautiful Galveston.
And then we were finally off. We spent the first couple of days lounging by the pool, reading, and playing Bingo (a must-do for us on any cruise vacation)!
I even won a whopping $5!
Oh, and there was a good amount of time spent hanging out here with my nieces:
Our first stop was Jamaica, which is always all of our favorite port. The people in Jamaica are incredibly friendly, it’s absolutely beautiful, and there’s just something about it that makes me beyond happy. We took a taxi over to an all-inclusive resort and spent the day swimming, eating, drinking rum punch (SO GOOD!) and hanging out in the lazy river.
The next day was Grand Cayman – we spent the day at the turtle farm drooling over the baby turtles. I’ll admit, we didn’t think the turtle farm was going to be particularly exciting, but it was so much fun. We got to hold them, swim with them, and may have even tried to sneak one home in our bags.
After that, we were done getting off the ship. We stopped in Cozumel, Mexico as well but none of us are big fans of Cozumel and we LOVE to have an entire day on the ship without a ton of other people. The pool was practically empty, there was no line for the water slides, and Corey and I managed to grab a hammock on the deck without having to fight anyone for it. It was basically a perfect day.
We spent the last few days of our vacation soaking up as much time by the pool as possible (and eating way more than any normal person should ever eat), and then on Sunday we pulled back into Galveston and had to be forcibly removed from the ship, kicking and screaming the entire way down the gangway (just kidding, but we considered it).
I’m still a little disappointed every time I look out my windows and am not rewarded with a view like the one above, but after a week away it’s kind of nice to be home. Our vacation was absolutely perfect and we can’t wait until next summer so we can do it again.
