  1. So, I am always trying to McGyver problems to make my life simpler and for things to work better. The problem of hanging a light directly over the center table always becomes an issue when you add leaves to the table to make it larger for holidays. I have a table that seats 14 with 6 leaves.
I was thinking of a (very aesthetic of course) track that would mount onto the ceiling at the chandelier’s electric connection point in the ceiling. The electrical wires would remain where they were. The lamps electric cord would have to have one of those pulley wire/leash type things as you slide the chandelier back and forth over the table to make up for the slack. I did a search on the internet and there isn’t anything. Someone needs to invent this !!!

  2. I can’t wait to see it!! Ours are crap but we’re renting so we don’t care quite as much.

  3. I LOVE the fixture you ended up with, and I can’t wait to see how it came to life for you!

  4. I am SO EXCITED to see how this turned out! Light fixtures completely intimidate me. I think they make such a huge impact but the ones I like are so expensive and they seem so hard to DIY! We haven’t really changed any of ours yet, although I did finally buy a cute chandelier for our guest room. I would love to change the light fixtures in our dining room and breakfast nook but again… intimidated 🙂

  5. That is so beautiful!! I can’t wait to see what you all decided on. Also, I’m in LOVE with the dark ceiling inspiration photo too. I pinned that when I barely knew what pinterest was. 🙂
