Cruisin’ Time!

Posted by Amanda under Off-Topic Tuesdays, Ramblings

!!!!!!!!!

In exactly 5 days, Corey and I will be in good ol’ Galveston, Texas getting ready to board the brand new Carnival Magic for the vacation that we’ve been desperately looking forward to for almost a year now.

I know a lot of people don’t love cruises, but Corey and I are obsessed. In our eyes, it’s the absolute perfect vacation and we cannot wait to go (see more of our reasoning for why we love it so much on this guest post I did for my friend Mandy!)

I’ve been on three cruises now and every one of them has been more amazing than the one before it. My first cruise was the summer after I graduated from high school – it was my first vacation without my parents, the first huge thing I paid for all by myself, and the first time (and only) time my sister and I got to spend an entire week with no one but each other. It was magical.

After that cruise, it was a few years before I got to go again, but Corey and I later got to go on another cruise (with my sister and her family this time) – and we got engaged while we were on that vacation!

I had to wait a couple more years again before my next cruise, but last year Corey and I went on yet another cruise for our honeymoon – and it was pure bliss.

This is the first time I’ll be able to go on a cruise two years in a row, and I’m hoping that we keep up the momentum and go again next year (and the next, and the next, and the next). We’re going with my sister and her family again, and I have a feeling it’s going to be absolutely perfect. My nieces are incredibly excited and we’ve all been counting down the days together since before we even made it out of the 200′s, and I can’t believe we’re finally here – it can’t get here fast enough!

I’m spending my week packing, cleaning, and trying not to go crazy while I wait. One week from right now I’ll be in the middle of the ocean, sipping on a cocktail and laying by the pool – I cannot wait!

Do you have any vacations planned this year? What’s your favorite type of vacation to go on?

AHHHHH! Have fun! You’re going to love the Magic, it’s so fancy. And be sure to get up early one day and snag one of the hammocks on the adult deck. Totally worth it. Your nieces are going to LOVE the shows too, they’re outstanding! I still couldn’t believe something that fancy was on a cruise ship. Can’t wait to hear about it when you get back!

I’ve never been on a cruise before, but it looks like a blast! The only reason I’ve been reluctant to go on one though is because I always want to spend more than a day at the destinations.

I made warm chocolate melting cake last night (recipe courtesy Carnival Cruise Lines) and it had me longing for a cruise!

Have so much fun!! I can’t wait to see some recaps. I’ve only been on two cruises (one in HS, one with the husband) but I do think they are a great vacation because you get to see and do so much for such little money! It’s the perfect way to travel the world at a relatively low cost. I hope you guys have a great time. I bet it will be fun to experience the cruise with your nieces for their first time!

Oh, there will be recaps! :) And, actually it’s my nieces’ third cruise – they’ve been on as many as I have, haha!
