There’s just something about chalk that makes me feel like a kid again. I love drawing with chalk and if it weren’t for my textured walls I would probably have a chalkboard-painted wall in just about every room in my house!
But, for now, I just settle for a little framed chalkboard that hangs in my kitchen. I like to change it up every once in a while, and the little pop of color on the wall never fails to make me smile!

This week I decided it needed a bit of summer fun, along with a bit of nostalgia – the lyrics are originally from a Nat King Cole song, but they remind me of one of my favorite episodes of Gilmore Girls (best! show! ever!) and this song is constantly running through my head all throughout the summer!
While I was decorating my chalkboard the other night, my sweet nieces grabbed my other chalkboard and decided to join in on the fun – they’ve definitely got summer fun on the brain, too!

Can you tell we’re all going on a cruise soon? I think they’re a little excited. Less than 20 days!
Do you like chalk? Anyone else have a hard time making anything actually look good with it? I’m so jealous of the people who can draw crazy, elaborate, beautiful things with chalk!

I want a chalkboard in my dining room. May have to add that to my summer to do list.
