Corey and I have been slowly making little updates to our kitchen, and one of the areas we’re most excited about is the breakfast nook – we have an adorable little tulip table and a ton of ideas to make the area amazing.
We love this little nook and the potential it has, but for the last few months the light has been bothering me a little. I love the texture on the shade, and the shape is so unique and fun, but the color is just off. It’s got a definite yellow tint to it, but it’s technically a tan color, and something about the color just bothered me.
So, struck by inspiration thanks to last week’s Friday Finds and the amazing yellow light, Corey and I decided to give it a little update. Soon, the shade went from this…
The difference is much more noticeable up close – once the light was back in the room, the difference was extremely subtle.
But it’s enough of a difference to help me not go a little crazy every time I see the light, and that makes me smile. The yellow is a bit more noticeable in person, and it fits into the room much better now. It makes much more of a statement over the table, and the yellow really pops next to the white table and chairs – I’m happy!
Have you ever made any almost-not-even-there changes that still managed to make you smile?
