Happy Good Friday!
It’s an especially happy for me, because it marks the start of a four-day weekend – sometimes being a teacher really has its perks! I’m planning on spending today out at the lake with Corey’s family, and then I think we’ll be spending some quality time with our nieces tomorrow, because yesterday was my sister’s 15 year anniversary with her husband! So, the girls will be coming to hang out with Corey and I so they can have a little alone time, and I’m really excited – I have my class pet (a hamster) at the house for the long weekend, and the girls have been dying to meet him, so it’ll be fun.
But that’s enough rambling – on to the finds! This week, we’re in Tulsa, Oklahoma thanks to the request of Jayme – Tulsa didn’t disappoint, and I even managed to find a piece that I am now completely obsessed with finding for our house!
I think this little desk is so cute – I really, really love the brass detail on the bottom of the legs, and the drawer pull! This would be the perfect desk for a tight area where you still need a little bit of storage (it’s rare to find a drawer on a desk this small!) and I think that it would look amazing painted in a fun, bright color. I’m thinking kelly green?
I love this dresser, and for $75 I would love to snatch it up! The size is great – it looks like it has a good amount of storage but it’s a smaller size than your standard dresser, which is nice for those small rooms! I’d love something like this in our guest room – I’d paint it glossy black and get some brass ring pulls for the drawers….it would look perfect! Another thing I love about this one? There are casters on the feet! Love!
I think I’ve mentioned this before, but Corey has a huge crush on these types of chairs right now, so it came as no surprise to me that he decided to include them in this week’s Friday Finds (he usually does most of the scouting for me). I’m not 100% sold on the style of chair (I love it, but not for our dining room, which is where he wants them!) but even I have to admit that it’s an amazing deal! I think that with a coat of paint and some super modern fabric, these would look great. I think they would look great as head chairs in a dining room with some other mis-matched chairs, especially if it was a smaller room where they could really stand out and look a bit grander. Our dining room is so big that I feel like we need some big head chairs to help keep our (ridiculously giant) table from looking comically large!
This look exactly like the chair Corey and I recovered way back when I first started this little ol’ blog, and the price is fabulous! I would love to have another chair to make a matching set (although I have no idea where we’d put it) and I think the lines on this guy are great. It obviously needs to be reupholstered, but I think with a little bit of love it would be amazing!
Okay, I know this one is looking a little awful right now. But with a little bit of paint and a pretty floral plant, this planter would look fabulous! I have no idea where Corey and I would hang this, but I think it would fit great in a garden or in a pretty patio area. I love unique pieces like this outside, so I’m definitely drawn to this one!
And now, for my favorite piece of the week (maybe ever?)…
Oh. My. Lord. I know some of you are probably rolling your eyes at me right now, but now that I know this exists I MUST HAVE a peacock fire screen. Can you even imagine how fabulous this would look sitting in front of our fireplace? Holy cow. I need this.
And with that, I’m off to frantically search the internet for a peacock fire screen. Wish me luck!
