This week we’re in Pennsylvania to look at the Lehigh Valley for Sara. She said she is one of the people who is always coveting Austin’s Craigslist finds, but she’s never had much luck in her own area.
Well, let’s just say I’m just about ready to pack up and move to Pennsylvania after perusing Lehigh Valley’s Craigslist for this post. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such affordable finds, and I am seriously lusting after these pieces – they’re amazing!
I love the look of vintage-y items used as decor in a room, and typewriters are totally no exception. There’s just something about them that make them look fantastic perched on a table or desk. I’ve seen them sitting on a table with a cute print resting on them, and it always looks awesome – and $45 is a total steal for something that would make such a fun statement!
Um, yeah. Thirty bucks for this gorgeous dresser. It would look fantastic as a media console, or a buffet. I would LOVE to have this in our living room as an entryway table or in our guest room (as a dresser, of course). I don’t love the cheap-looking finish on it, but some paint would fix that easily – and some new hardware on those drawers would update it even more. I’m smitten!
There are no words for how obsessed I am with these lamps. The price is incredible and these lamps would make such an impact in a room! They definitely need new shades (I love the shape of these, but the color is awful), but everything else about them is pretty much perfect. I love glass lamps, and the shape on these is so incredibly unique – I want them so badly!
I’m definitely not usually one to be interested in buying a couch on Craigslist (something about something that large and upholstered that has been in someone else’s house totally weirds me out) but this one is such a fantastic price that it would be hard to pass up! It’s got a fun shape, and I like how the modern, clean-lined legs contrast with the curvy shape of the couch – it’s a little unexpected and so much fun!
Another incredible dresser deal! This one looks a bit more dresser-y, so I would probably keep it as a dresser (or maybe a media console) but I think it would look fantastic in our guest room! I would love to paint it a super glossy black and get some really fun, unique hardware for it – the dresser is simple enough that it could handle some really unique drawer pulls without it being too much. I’m in love!
I think this little table is adorable! It would look great in a small breakfast nook, with some modern looking chairs pulled up to it. It’s a bit dainty for our house (our breakfast nook is pretty large, so it needs a table with a little more bulk than this one) but I think it would look amazing in a smaller kitchen! It obviously needs a new paint job, but that’s an easy fix, and I would LOVE to keep the two-toned look it has – it’s fun, and I like the pop of bolder color at the bottom of the table!
This rocking chair is ugly right now, I’ll admit that. But I think it has potential and for twenty bucks, you can’t pass up the chance to see if it’ll work! I would love to paint the wood a neutral color and reupholster the chair with a really bold pattern – I think this rocking chair would look fantastic in a nursery with more modern accents!
And that’s Lehigh Valley – I’m officially obsessed.
I had a pretty crazy week this week – I started a new job (that I think I might be completely and totally in love with) and it’s always a bit crazy to switch to a new teaching job in the middle of the year! I’m hoping we’ll be able to squeeze in a little bit of resting time this weekend – we have a pretty insane weekend coming up – but I won’t complain if we stay busy. I’ll be going to see The Hunger Games this weekend, so that pretty much means I’m going to be completely blissed out no matter what happens. Cannot wait!
Anyone wanna move to Pennsylvania with me? What are your plans for the weekend? Are you as ridiculously excited about The Hunger Games as I am!?!?
