When I got an e-mail from Amanda asking me to see what I could find in Fresno, California, I was excited and a little nervous – California is known for being the land of all things expensive, so I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find anything budget friendly.
Thankfully, Craigslist has once again proven me wrong. There were some amazing deals out in Fresno and I’m totally jealous that I can’t buy this stuff for myself!
Please don’t tell me I’m the only one with summer on the brain already. I’m counting down the days of school left (47, if you must know) and I cannot wait for that glorious break. I love everything about summer, including spending hours hanging out in the backyard. Corey and I don’t have a good set of patio furniture, and that’s something we’re definitely hoping to purchase soon. This set is really cute, and those chairs look nice and cushy! You can’t beat $250 for an entire set, and I think it could look even better if you spray painted the iron parts, or maybe even recovered the cushions – there is a ton of potential here!
A pedestal table for $40? SERIOUSLY? I’d love to paint this guy white and plop him down in a dining room or kitchen breakfast nook – the deal is almost impossible to pass up, and I think this table is gorgeous!
I have no idea what I would use these old window frames for, but at $30 I would find some place to put them! Old windows can be used for so many different things, and these are both a great size. You could hang them on the wall as art, replace the glass with wood and turn it into a chalkboard, or use them as picture frames. The possibilities are more or less endless, and I love the whimsical touch these would add to a room!
Um, I want this chair so badly. I would paint it white and put it in our guest room pulled up to the desk we have sitting in there. I love these vintage-y chairs, and the shape of this one in particular is amazing. And, again, the deal is incredibly amazing – I am so jealous of this find!
I think both of these desks are really cute, and the price on them is fantastic! I’ve always had a bit of a thing for roll-top desks, and the one here is no exception. It would require some work to paint as it’s probably not real wood, but I think the effort would be worth it! The first one is great too, and I’m a huge fan of the hardware on it! I have absolutely no reason to buy a desk right now, but oh my goodness I’d snatch one of these up in a second!
And that, my friends, is how I learned that not ALL things in California are unreasonably expensive.
Have you ever been surprised by the price of something you found on Craigslist?
