Take, for example, what happened this weekend after it had been raining for two days straight…
My dogs love to run around outside, and they have no concept of slowing down once they come back in. So, when our backyard is muddy that means my house gets muddy too. This may or may not be the number one reason I am dying to get rid of this carpet and get wood flooring.
I briefly considered just getting rid of the dogs so I can have clean carpets all the time (KIDDING, Corey. Kidding.) but that didn’t really seem like a practical solution.
Thankfully, with a little patience and a borrowed carpet shampoo-er I was able to get it nice and clean again.
I know. Thrilling, right? You know you’re getting old when you get excited about clean carpet.
Of course, making my carpet dirty isn’t the only annoying thing my dogs do.
They also do this:
Yeah, that would be our beautiful bedspread with a nice big hole in it. Thanks, boys.
I wasn’t about to get rid of the bedspread that I’m totally in love with over a little hole, though, so I pulled out my needle and thread and got to stitching.
It’s less than pretty up close, but it’s not a hole anymore, which is really all that matters. Plus, once you back up and look at it from a normal distance, it looks a little more like this:
Can you see it? Yeah, me neither.
Hopefully my dogs are finished wreaking havoc on my house for the next few weeks – I don’t know if I can handle much more!
