Friday Finds

Posted by Amanda under Friday Finds

You may or may not notice that this post is going up, oh about four hours later than usual (you probably didn’t notice, but indulge me on this one). That would be because I have the day off today and I chose to sleep in for a glorious three extra hours before getting started putting this together. I have a feeling this Friday is going to be a good one.

Let’s get to it!

(Craigslist Austin – $175)

It’s hard to tell from this photo, but this is a (gorgeous) 8X10 outdoor rug from Crate & Barrel. I love the geometric pattern on it, and Corey and I have been dying to give our backyard a makeover lately. Outdoor rugs can do so much for a space, and they can really make a patio or deck area feel like an extension of the house rather than just an outdoor space. Hopefully by the time next summer rolls around we’ll be able to get ourselves some outdoor furniture and a rug like this so we can have a space outside that we actually want to spend time in (as opposed to the paint-covered furniture we have out there now).

(Craigslist Austin – $80)

I’m a sucker for a cute chair, and I think that these two have the potential to be beyond cute! I see them painted a fun color and re-upholstered in something modern and bright. I’m such a huge fan of taking old, dated pieces of furniture and slapping on some punchy paint, and I think these chairs are a perfect candidate for this kind of makeover!

(Craigslist Austin – $150)

Maybe it’s the 10 year old girl in me that never went away, but I have a serious penchant for four poster beds. Growing up, I always begged my parents to get me one – particularly one with a canopy – but it was always a no-go. Now that I’m buying my own furniture, there’s definitely a part of me that would kill for a beautiful four poster bed like this one. I love the black, but if you know me at all you know that I’d be painting mine glossy white and plopping it down in my master bedroom – we have such high ceilings in there that a bed this tall would look right at home!

Well, my friends, I’m off to relax and soak up every possible second of this glorious day off! I plan on watching copious amounts of television, (hopefully) finishing up a project or two, and not doing one single thing that I don’t absolutely want to do.

How do you like to spend your days off?

As a kid, I wanted a four poster canopy bed too! I love love love those chairs. Be careful, Austin is moving up in my places to move post graduation, and I will be on the hunt for all the mid-century goodness too (even though none of those were on your list this time). And yay for a day off!
