Our gallery wall may be all switched up in favor of Christmas decor now, but when I was wandering around my house trying to think of a good photo to represent my family, I couldn’t think of anything better than the one photo we have of our little family in it’s entirety.
We’ve tried to take family photos since this one, but with Ranger so much bigger now (I can’t believe he actually fit in my lap at one point!) it’s almost impossible to get everyone in one spot and sitting still long enough to snap a photo. We’ve come so far since that photo was taken – we’re now married, we’ve moved twice since that apartment, we both graduated from college, and we’re now living in a totally different city. Oh, and Ranger is about three times the size he was back then.
Someday I’d like to get an updated photo of our little family, but it always makes me smile to look back on this photo and remember when we were just getting started. It’s easy to get caught up in all of the things we want to improve in our house, and all of the updates we want to make, but then I try to remind myself that just two short years ago everything was completely different in our lives – and we’re so grateful for all of the big changes we’ve already made!
And with that, I’ve officially completed the Interior Design Bingo challenge – thanks for following along! I had fun, even though I had to reveal some less than attractive parts of our home, and I loved getting the chance to share some of the plans we have for the future of our home!
Do you have any good family portraits? Any tips for getting dogs to sit still and look at the camera?
I’m participating in the Interior Design Bingo challenge hosted by Ali at His Birdie’s Nest – check out her blog for more info and for a list of participating bloggers.
