I know, I know.
There is nothing mid-century modern about our breakfast nook. Not yet at least.
Corey and I have quite a few mid-century pieces in our home, but I’ve shared them all on the blog before, so I thought I’d share a space that we hope to eventually liven up with some mid-century modern furniture. We love our little yellow table, but it is starting to look a bit ragged (which is understandable, since we bought it for about $100 at Ikea four years ago and have used it almost daily since), and I think it’s going to get a new life as a craft table in our garage someday.
We plan to replace the yellow table with this guy from Ikea, along with some industrial chairs (maybe like these or a cheaper version of these?) We love the idea of creating some contrast with the curvy table and some angle-y, metallic chairs, and I think the round shape of the table would work much better in that particular space. And, of course, once we add in some wood flooring, re-texture and paint the walls in a neutral color, and add a bright yellow barn door, I have a feeling this space will go from one of our least favorite nooks to one of our favorite places to hang out!
What would your dream breakfast nook look like?
