Guess what we did this weekend?
On a whim, Corey and I decided to give “the mothership” (aka: our dining room chandelier) a huge makeover on Friday night. We’ve hated that light since the second we moved in, but we haven’t had a chance to do anything about it yet. One of the main problems with the light is that it isn’t centered in the room, so it is going to require a lot more than simply installing a new light to make it look better. We have lots of ideas for what we may do with the space – our current frontrunner is a completely DIY-ed chandelier that we’re pumped to try out – but we hadn’t had the time/money to actually do anything yet. On Friday night, I decided I couldn’t stand it any longer and decided to pull the chandelier down to see what we could do with it.
I seriously winced a bit every time I looked at that light, and I’m so glad we finally decided to do something about it. I’ll be sharing the details (and tons of photos) tomorrow, but I think we can all agree that anything would be a huge improvement over that monstrosity of a light fixture, no?
Do you have any awful light fixtures in your house?
