Corey and I aren’t big “shabby chic” fans, and we don’t have much in our home that would fit that label. This little side table is actually probably the only piece we own that is even remotely shabby chic, and I think even that is a bit of a stretch. This table was one of our very first furniture makeovers, and it still makes us smile just as much as it did on the day we finished it.
We were worried that once we moved to Austin, we wouldn’t have a good spot for this little table to live, but on the day we moved it it randomly got placed next to our sofa so we could get it out of our way, and we haven’t moved it since! We love that it’s the perfect height to sit next to the couch, and it provides a perfect spot for setting drinks. I also love looking over and seeing Herman, our ceramic seahorse (yes, we name our ceramic animals – don’t you?) hanging out next to me on the couch. He might be my favorite ceramic animal – but don’t tell the others.
Do you have any shabby chic accents in your home? More importantly, do you name inanimate objects?
