You getting sick of me yet? I promise, three posts a day is my limit – I’m done after this one!
First of all, I apologize for the iPhone photo – I wasn’t planning on snapping a photo when I was at my sister’s house the other day, but I realized she has a great example of uplighting in her home (whereas I have no examples at all). This is a little table that sits in my sister’s living room, and it houses two gorgeous lamps (that she gave a gorgeous makeover to) that provide some oh-so gorgeous uplighting. I’ve always loved this little vignette in her house (especially those bookends – I may steal them sometime) and the recent addition of these lamps took it to a whole new level. I’m a bit obsessed with gold touches lately, and the gold lamps with the navy shades make such a beautiful statement in the room.
Once Corey and I realized that we don’t have any examples of uplighting in our own home, we got to talking about how we’d like to add it in. Corey loves the idea of adding some uplighting to our trees in the backyard (I’m not 100% sold on the idea, but we can give it a shot!) and I think some upward-facing sconces might look nice in our downstairs powder room. We’ll see where we end up adding uplighting in our house, if at all, but we were definitely inspired by this little challenge and I love that it got our wheels turning to find creative ways to add uplighting to our own home!
Do you have any uplighting in your home?
