This would be our master bathroom ceiling (the home of the infamous toilet spotlight). It’s one of the most visually interesting ceilings in our house, with the insane height and the beautiful angles, but it’s also one of the ugliest. The majority of our ceilings are popcorn ceilings, and it seems like at some point the previous homeowners decided they disliked the popcorn as much as we do and tried to scrape it off. Only, they did a horrible job and now this looks like a poorly stucco-ed, patchy ceiling and it drives Corey and I absolutely insane. When we give this bathroom a makeover (as you can see it desperately needs, what with the awkward texture and the awful brown walls) we’ll be searching for a way to cover up the bad texturing on this ceiling while also highlighting the wonderful angles.
We talked about just painting it, but that won’t fix the texture problem. Currently, we’re tossing around the idea of doing a wood-paneled ceiling, though we aren’t sure how hard that would be to pull off with the crazy amount of angles in there. Hopefully we’ll land on something that will work, but for now I just try not to look up too much when I go into the bathroom.
Do you have any ceilings in your house that you don’t like?
