It may or may not be way too early (it totally is), but I have Christmas on the brain. All the time. Maybe it’s the thrill of owning our own home for the first time, or the fact that it’s our first Christmas together as a married couple, but I’ve already got the holiday spirit in full swing over here. We haven’t decorated yet (I’m not that crazy), but we’ve been talking about Christmas decorations for a few weeks now, and this weekend we finally made a decision on our stockings. These kinds of decisions are important, because I’m a big believer in tradition and the stockings we buy now are the stockings we’ll be using for the next 20+ years. You think I’m kidding, but I used the same (extremely ugly) childish kitten stocking until the day I moved out of my parents house, because Christmas traditions don’t change, dammit!
We’re extremely happy with our choice (we found the stockings and the letters at Target) and are thrilled that we were even able to find matching mini stockings for the dogs. The look we’re going for with our Christmas decorations is rustic-meets-glamorous (think silver reindeer, pine cones, and shimmery silver Christmas dishes) and I think these stockings fit the bill perfectly. We just need to find some stocking holders for our mantle, and then anxiously wait for the day after Thanksgiving when we can finally decorate!
Do you take Christmas decor as seriously as we do?
