This week has been interesting. I thought I was going to finish our nightstands and post about them earlier in the week, but I had a huge set-back (in the form of some seriously cracked paint…thanks, Valspar!) that I’ll talk about later, so I’m really hoping I’ll get to it this weekend!
Corey and I have quite a few things on the agenda this weekend, including a new project that I’ve been excited about for a long time now, so hopefully we’ll have lots to share next week!
And now, onto the goods!
It’s just not Friday Finds without a good mid-century piece, right? This one is quite a bit more expensive than I’d ever be willing to spend, but isn’t it gorgeous? It’s definitely on the (very) expensive side, but it’s an old stereo cabinet and I think it would look fabulous as a buffet or an entry table. I love the unique look of it, but I’m obviously a sucker for anything that looks like it could have been pulled straight from the Brady household, so I might be a bit biased.
Okay, let’s look past the colors here. Corey and I both have a serious crush on tulip tables right now, and we agree that once we get around to replacing our kitchen table and chairs, it’ll be with something just like this. Only, you know, not purple and silver. I’d imagine it would be pretty easy to sand this guy down and paint it a (say it with me now) glossy white! It would look perfect in our breakfast nook!
I’ve been thinking lately about how I want to replace our straight-from-the-college-years behind the door mirror in our bathroom, and I think something like this fits the bill perfectly. It’s a nice, large size and it’s got some unique features that make oh so much more pretty than the ugly black-framed thing we have in our bathroom right now. It’s hard to find full-length mirrors that aren’t either way too large for behind a door or way too cheap looking to look good, and I think this one strikes a very nice balance!
I’m not gonna lie – it may still be October, but I’ve had Christmas on the brain lately! Corey and I have decided that instead of getting a new ornament for our tree every year like a log of couples do, we’re going to start collecting houses for a Christmas village! My grandmother always had a very elaborate one at her house when I was growing up, and my parents have a small one as well, so I kind of feel like Christmas villages are a bit of a family tradition that I’d like to carry on! We spent some time already scoping out the options at a few local stores, but I’d love to snatch up this entire set – it sure would get us off to a good start on our collection!
Holy cow, this door is gorgeous, no? I don’t usually see this sort of thing on Craigslist, so I was all over it when it popped up. This door is heartbreakingly beautiful and I’d love to snatch it up, paint it yellow, and put replace our front door with it. I love the oval window and I love the chunky paneling – really, I just love everything about it! And, um, only $175 for a real hardwood antique door? Hello, amazing deal!
And that’s what I’ve got this week. I’ll be back early next week, hopefully with a ton of amazing updates for you!
