I’m sure you’ve noticed, but things have been a bit quiet for us on the project front lately. It has nothing to do with lack of inspiration or ideas (trust me, we’re overflowed with both of those) and a lot to do with a big giant lack of funds.
But we’ll get there. Soon, hopefully.
In the meantime, we have a couple of small little updates that we’d like to share.
First up – a birthday gift from my sister…something I’ve been drooling over for a long, long time.
I absolutely love the whimsical look to these books, and I can’t wait to read them, either. Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite books of all time, and I love how the pink ties in nicely with our new bedspread. And my love for all things vampire-related means that The Vampire Chronicles are sure to be a new favorite of mine (I’ve already read – and loved – Interview With a Vampire).
I love how they look in the room, and they make me smile every time I see them. We’d love to get rid of that big, ugly fan sitting next to the dresser, but since our vintage fan is (once again) not working, we’re going to have to find a better looking replacement before we get rid of it completely.
The other small update we made this week was in our living room. Corey’s mom recently gave us some little concrete birds that used to sit in Corey’s grandmother’s office, and we gave them a little facelift and plopped them on the mantle.
We love how the purple pops against the white mantle and vases, and the birds are pretty dang cute. Since they were from Corey’s grandmother’s garden, they’re also meaningful to us, which is the best kind of decoration.
We love that we’re starting to bring some new colors into the house, even in tiny ways, and we are having so much fun seeing the house slowly becoming more “us”. Now if only we could get started on some of those bigger projects!
