This past weekend, Corey and I headed up to my aunt and uncle’s house for a big family gathering. I always love heading out to this particular house, because my aunt and uncle own a couple hundred acres of farm land and have two houses placed on it where they and my cousin and her husband live.
It’s such a quiet, beautiful place to be, and I love the down-home country feel of their houses and the land surrounding them. While we were there, I was getting some serious inspiration from their houses, the land, and just the general atmosphere of where they live. The biggest place that inspired me? My cousin’s beautiful screened-in porch.
We spent a good chunk of the weekend hanging out in the screened in porch, where we could still enjoy being outdoors without getting heat stroke. It was so relaxing and I absolutely loved being there – so, of course, when I got home I had to spend some time looking up photos of screened-in porches and dreaming of having one at our house.
Something else I’ve decided I need as a result of this trip?
Oh, clotheslines. So pretty and practical. And eco-friendly to boot! Corey and I definitely have room in our massive backyard for something like this, so I’m pretty sure that I’ll be begging him to get one up for me sometime soon. I have dreams of hanging my clothes out to dry and bringing them inside smelling like flowers and happiness.
