Y’all have no idea how happy I am that it’s Friday. This week was rough, and I am more excited than I can say to get to sleep in tomorrow.
Corey and I are taking a new approach to Friday Finds since I’ve started my job now and don’t have much time to look around on Craigslist. From now on, Corey is going to be the one to find the items, and I’ll be adding the commentary – so I won’t see the pieces until I go into the drafts to write the post. It should add some fun to the posts because I may or may not agree with him on the potential of the items, so we’ll have to see how it goes!
(Craigslist Austin – $90)
I LOVE this table. Corey and I have several spots in our house that are sorely lacking furniture since this house is so much bigger than what we’re used to, and I can think of more than one place that this would look good. I’m thinking I’d like to paint it a fun color and add it to our living room entryway, because we’re seriously in need of some color in there!
(Craigslist Austin – $100)
Another piece I love! Corey did good for his first time! 🙂 I picture this guy painted a glossy white with a fun color on the back (I’m really into orange right now), and I’d put all of our dishes in it! I’m not sure that it would fit in our dining room with the giant table we’re having delivered next week (that you’ll hear all about soon), but it sure would look fantastic!!
(Craigslist Austin – $15)
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t so sure about this one until Corey told me why he included it. I’ve been wanting to get a stepstool for our bedroom closet because there is a lot of high storage in there that I can’t reach. When he saw this, he thought it could be reupholstered to make a really cute stepstool for me to put in there! I’d love to add a super bright, bold fabric to it (since it’s going in the closet you can get a little crazy with the color and pattern and it won’t matter!) and toss it in my closet for when I need to reach something up high.
(Craigslist Austin – $85)
These industrial lights are great! They remind me a lot of something you could find at Ikea, only way better. Corey and I have a ridiculous amount of lights that need to be replaced in our house, and I’d love to use these somewhere. I’m a big fan of the industrial light thing that’s going around right now, so these make my heart happy!
(Craigslist Austin – $75)
This is definitely a piece that’s more Corey’s style than mine. He definitely has a tendency towards more traditional pieces, whereas I like stuff with more modern lines. A lot of the more traditional pieces that he likes can be updated to make me happy with bold colors or new hardware, but I’m not sure about this one. He says that he thinks it would be a good fit for our empty entryway, but I’d much prefer something a little less country. I’ve seen a lot of houses where pieces like this look great, but it isn’t really the same style as most of the other pieces in our house – it’s a great deal, though!
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend – I know I’m going to be spending mine catching up on sleep after waking up at 5:15 every day this week for work!
What time do you get up for work? Do you and your significant other have different styles, or do you agree on everything?
