That’s right, “find”. No plural – I only have one thing to share with you today.
Why? Well I found several other things that I loved, but they were all so great that by the time I got around to getting the photo from them, they were already sold!
But, trust me. This one is enough on its own.
Before I share it, though, I have to share something I’ve noticed about Craigslist – at least, the Austin Craigslist. I’ve noticed that the things I love tend to come in waves. For example, when I first started doing Friday Finds, I was finding a ton of amazing mid-century dressers and dining room consoles. Of course, at the time we didn’t have the room for them so I couldn’t get any of them.
BUT as soon as we found our house and suddenly realized that we would have the room for these pieces, we couldn’t find them anymore. At all. It literally went from finding one or two amazing pieces a day to nothing at all.
It’s been a few months since I stopped seeing pieces, and now they’re slowly starting to trickle back in. Like, for example, my amazing find from this week:
This is pretty much exactly what I’m looking for to use as a dresser in our master bedroom. Exactly. We didn’t get to buy this one since we’re on a strict budget right now (you know, the whole buying a house thing is really expensive!) but I finally have hope again! Maybe the next cycle of great pieces will fall right after we move into the house, and I won’t have to wait for months and months before I find anything I like again.
Have you noticed a trend with Craigslist in your city? Now that I’ve discovered the patterns in ours, I’m dying to know if other cities experience this too!
